How to remember wines you liked

Names fade fast. Context and a photo of the label last.

Capture the label, not the lecture

You do not need a paragraph of aroma vocabulary. Scan or photograph the label, add a star rating, and write how it made you feel: “easy weeknight red,” “celebration bubbles,” “too tannic for me.”

Notes, a journal entry, and the place, all saved with the wine.

Tag the moment

Where were you? Who was with you? That pairing is often how you search later: “the wine from Sarah’s birthday dinner.”

Build a short wish list

When you love something at a restaurant, move it to a wish list so you can hunt it at a shop without relying on the sommelier’s handwriting.

Frequently asked questions

What if I only remember the grape?

Log the grape and region anyway, plus whatever you recall about the label. Partial entries beat empty pages.
